For this class project, I was tasked with going through the full product development cycle from ideation to final designs and building a brand. I chose to create a luxurious perfume brand and explored various use cases and visual guides for the final brand.
The majority of natural disaster support apps today don't offer localized information or a sense of community beyond the initial effort for prevention and detection. This creates a gap between the period of disaster and individuals' time to process and seek greater support. Most importantly, when power goes out, many solutions are completely unusuable without technology.
Product Inspiration
Packaging Inspiration
Taking Pictures in Store
Five perfume and packaging concept pencil sketches to uniquely illustrate the intended purpose while offering consumers a fun and interactive experience through both the bottle and packaging.
BRANDING
Defining visual direction for luxurious aesthetic
The primary color palette was chosen based on purple and gold, representing luxury and wealth. The mood board highlights the essence of breaking away (transforming) using deep colors, dark shadows, minute details, and harsh lines for a luxury feel.
FINAL PROTOTYPE
Merging final design with branding guide through AI
My team and I presented our extensive user research, problem space findings, ResQ app solution, and a no-tech education city education hub strategy to USC professors, students, and alumni and received valuable feedback on the value and potential of ResQ moving forward.
NEXT STEPS
Creating an original, high-fidelity product and packaging render in Blender
Although the final project required converting my original work into a more realistic render using an AI software, these designs can be pushed to the next level by illustrating them in a 3D render to increase interactivity and better depict final visual details.
